What is Mission Central? Mission Central is a ministry of the United Methodist Church established in the Central Pennsylvania Conference. Mission Central is the mission warehouse that provides aid and distributes relief and mission materials locally, nationally, and worldwide. Since their beginning in June 2002, Mission Central has hosted thousands of volunteers who come to Mission Central to experience being "the hands and feet of God" in service. With these volunteers, they process United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) "Relief Kits" for use around the world, provide all types of needed supplies for local and national ministries, and assist many projects that are sending God's love around the world.
What is the Valley Ministry HUB? In 1999, the Fillmore United Methodist Church adopted the Continental Courts Mobile Home Park as its mission focus. With the help of Conference of Global Ministries, the Fillmore congregation purchased a new double-wide manufactured home in 2001 and located it at the entrance to the mobile home park. This home is now 100% dedicated mission space. In 2006, the Valley Ministry Initiative was formed, and the Fillmore, Buffalo Run and Valley View congregations joined in ministries in a three point charge. In 2007, the Buffalo Run Charge was chosen to participate as one of the new Mission Central Hub sites, known as the Valley Ministry HUB. The Valley Ministry HUB is in Covenant Agreement with Mission Central. The Valley Ministry HUB will be accepting donations for Mission Central, assembling health kits and providing space for other church and civic groups to come for hands-on mission projects.
How can you help? Donate your time and/or money!! Health kit item donations will be collected at the Valley Ministry HUB during the following times: 3rd Monday of each month - 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Monetary donations for the purchase of health kit items can be sent to: Valley Ministry HUB Continental Courts Mission Center 126 Apple Street Bellefonte, PA 16823 Checks should be made payable to: Valley Ministry HUB.
